Fashion Industry Target Consultation

Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are inviting stakeholders from across the global fashion value chain – brands, retailers, NGOs, manufacturers, land stewards, indigenous communities, data providers, innovators, financial institutions, policymakers, academia, certification bodies, and more – to contribute insights on key milestones that the industry must strive to meet to achieve a net positive industry. Importantly they aim to identify the needed tools and support for accelerating action.

The Fashion Industry Target Consultation annual survey is open until 31 May 2024 and available in several languages. The topics included align with the five sustainability priorities of the Fashion CEO Agenda: Respectful & Secure Work Environments, Better Wage Systems, Resource Stewardship, Smart Material Choices, and Circular Systems.

Though routes of travel will vary by actor, region and context, our industry must achieve net-positivity no later than 2050. To achieve this, the consultation will help clarify current progress and drive accountability for a range of consistent, measurable, monitored, and complete goals that must be focused on to accelerate impact.

Feedback received until May 31st will contribute to the results presented in the GFA Monitor, expected to be published later in 2024. Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in shaping the future of the fashion industry.
