Feeding the planet and energy for life
In 2015, Italy hosted EXPO (www.expo2015.org), the Universal Exposition having as central theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. Life cycle assessment (LCA) represents a reference methodology that helps analysing supply chains toward achieving sustainability objectives, including improved agriculture, food production and consumption as well as more efficient energy conversion and use.
The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and the Italian LCA Network jointly organized a conference during EXPO 2015, discussing the role of LCA on the EXPO 2015 topics and presenting latest research in the field.
